Chased Moon Pendant: An example of our collaborative design process
A good design process is never one-sided; allowing clients the freedom to influence the design of a piece of jewellery is central to our philosophy and ensures a rewarding experience for both them and us; the client is left with a piece of truly unique jewellery, and the designer a real sense of fulfilment.
The client of this bespoke pendant wanted a piece that incorporated moon stone, peridot and the theme of music. As you can see in the first design (A), the musical element was the most prominent. The conclusion from this design was that the sweeping shapes followed a good direction, but that the theme needed to be slightly more subtle. The music theme was toned down in design (B) to just a single inlay motif and a curved, more organic design took shape. This inspired the client to venture further towards the organic form, making the musical theme more subtle still, culminating in the final design (C) with its smooth flowing lines and timeless intelligence: a unique and subtly symbolic necklace.
