Our Photographer
Neil Rayment has been in the Silver and Jewellery industry since his HND graduation from Medway College of Art and Design in 1989. After setting up Rayment & Hull Silversmiths in early 1991 he set about capturing on film the materials and craftsmanship which encapsulate our industry. In these early days he archived great results with 35mm but some times found it expensive and time consuming with varying continuity.
But through the years technologies improved, new SLR`s and Macro lenses led the way to the present digital age. The days of negatives, 35mm and dark room developing have gone. We now have high resolution instant photography and computer generated media which give excellent results time after time. One constant does however remain the subject matter with its mesmerising faceted colours and mirror finished surfaces, only experience can capture.
